Osage Orange Bowl

Here are a few pictures of the latest bowl I am working on.  It is a work in progress.

Here is the roughed out shape on mounted on the lathe.

After roughing a bit.

A bit more.

A little more.

More.  Getting to see more of the grain.

Sanded– Recess in bottom for the chuck when I turn it around and work on the inside.  This is sanded to 220.  I’ll hit it up to 13000 later.

Side note–as I was taking the faceplate off to turn it around-the head stripped off 6 screws.  Still working on trying to determine a way to remove them.  Any ideas would be helpful.  I just bagged the piece to it won’t dry out  and crack tonight.

I’ll try to finish it tomorrow.
